6 Steps to find the best Chiropractor in Albury for you

You’re sick of being in pain all the time. You’ve seen a thousand other health professionals, and not only do they all tell you the same thing, but you aren’t getting results. You just want to be healthy.

Sound familiar?

Many people who are seeking relief from situations such as these will begin the daunting task of trying to find a Chiropractor who ticks all the boxes. Are they thorough? Will they help me?

How do you know who is the right fit for you?

Don’t stress.

We have created a checklist so you can ensure that you find the best Chiropractor in Albury, and the ‘daunting task’ becomes as simple as booking yourself an appointment.

The 6 steps that the best Chiropractors use:

Step 1) An easy but detailed Initial Consultation

You should be greeted by staff that are excited to meet and help you. You will be asked to fill out some forms that include questions about:

- Your reason for seeing a - Chiropractor

- Past health traumas

- What has and hasn't worked in the past

The best chiropractors will then ask you some questions about your problems and past traumas, such as:

- What kind of pain are you having?

- What may have caused it?

- Where and when did it start?

If you don’t know the answers to all the questions right away, that’s okay!

They will help you figure it out. They can also communicate with local GPs to get the best results for you.

Step 2) A thorough, no-fuss Examination

In the best Chiropractic examinations, you get to leave your clothes on. A thorough examination of your spine, joints and nervous system would include:

- Digital Posture Analysis

- Manual Posture Analysis

- If necessary, a scoliosis exam

- Range of movement checks

- Orthopaedic and Neurological Testing (Joints and Nerves)

- Palpation (How your spine moves)

Your chiropractor will be gentle and clear with any instructions, and it’s as easy as a pie from Parker Pies!

Step 3) You might need X-Rays…

…if so, there is no stress. Warm and friendly staff will be all over it. Your chiropractor will write you a referral, and the staff will book you in to go through your X-rays on your second visit.

Not everyone needs X-rays, but sometimes they help make sure chiropractic care is safe for you and provide the chiropractor with crucial information about degeneration of the spine and discs, fractures or (let's hope not...) cancers. They might also help you understand more about your body, what's wrong and what or who can help.

Step 4) Your Results: pass or fail?

Unfortunately, with your body it isn’t always as easy as a pass or fail, and things can seem complicated and confusing at times. Fortunately, that’s where the best chiropractors will help you, and will take the time to figure out what is wrong.

After the first visit, the Chiropractor will go through your X-rays and examination results with you and make sure you understand what is wrong, why you are in pain and if they can help you. If they can’t, they will refer you to the right health professional for you and set you down the right track.

If they can help you, they will move you right on to step 5…

Step 5) A step-by-step care program designed for YOU

This program is designed to get your health back, and is based on the results of your consultation, examination AND X-Rays. You might learn a thing or five about your health in the process. A complete program might include:

- Chiropractic adjustments

- Mirror image exercises

- Strengthening exercises

- Stretches

- And some extra advice from your chiropractor

Step 6) The Chiropractic Adjustment

A chiropractic adjustment is when the Chiropractor uses a variation of techniques to align your spine. Subluxation is when the spine is out of alignment, preventing the messages from your brain from getting to the rest of your body.

And the best of it is, just like the examination, with the best chiropractor, you get to keep your clothes and shoes on! (Okay, so those ghastly puffer jackets we all use in Albury Wodonga over winter may have to come off).

The best Chiropractors will make sure that you know you are in the right hands and will talk you though what they are doing so there are no surprises. Many Chiropractors do not massage, such as at House of Chiropractic, and will instead provide you with an individualised care program to maximise your results.
