Can I See a Chiropractor When I am Pregnant?
The short answer is yes. Absolutely.
So many women have benefited from Chiropractic care all throughout their pregnancy.
At House of Chiropractic in Albury we care for patients who are preparing for pregnancy, who are pregnant and then postpartum too.
During all stages it’s so important to have a healthy functioning spine, pelvis and nervous system.
It’s important to find a chiropractor who is confident and knowledgeable in assessing and correcting pregnant patients.
Our Chiropractor, Dr Janine Adams loves helping pregnant women.
Janine has her own two children so understands first hand the trials, tribulations and triumphs of pregnancy and beyond. She has been helping pregnant women for many years.
How Does Chiropractic Help During Pregnancy?
The most obvious area that Chiropractic can help when you are pregnant is your pelvis and low back. As your baby increases in size and weight this increase in load (+ the hormonal changes you go through) can cause your pelvis and low back to shift out of alignment.
Often women just accept back pain, walking difficulties, leg pain, pubic problems, pelvic pain or sciatica when they don’t need to. They may simply be out of alignment. Chiropractic corrections can assist greatly and can certainly help make pregnancy more funner!
Regular chiropractic care during pregnancy can help with symptoms such as pubic pain, headaches, back pain and neck pain. Chiropractic care can also relieve the stress and tension on the pelvis and ligaments that support the uterus too. Essential when considering the labour, delivery and recovery.
As your tummy gets bigger, your chest (the milk supply!) will also increase in size. This can put a lot of pressure on your mid back and rib cage. Chiropractic corrections can help to alleviate mid back pain and rib problems too.
So, how do you perform a correction with a pregnant belly peeking out?
You may be wondering how you would lay on a chiropractic table as you get bigger?
At House of Chiropractic we have nifty tables that allow room for growing bellies, plus we have lots of tricks up our sleeves as we have been helping pregnant woman for years. It’s all pretty easy and comfortable.
